Human Resources
This content will be filled in bit by bit as I publish my work on the role of Human Resources in the accommodation process.
The Human Resources office plays a central role in the approval of workplace accommodations. They are typically the first who guides a disabled employee through the each step of the accommodation process. They are also in charge of approving or denying accommodations.
Each organization has a slightly different process and way of managing their accommodation steps.
Even though this is a formal process which should be straight forward, there is a wide range of variation of what is granted or denied based on the HR Employees' implicit assumptions, the workplace budget, and the workplace culture.
